12 27 Golf was first played at Knokkee at the turn of the century when
the club was an offshoot of Bruges Golf & Sports Club. It assumed
its own identity in 1909 and the current courses were designed after World
War II by Lt Col Allen. The quality of the main course, laid out over
undulating ground with a profusion of trees is such that the Belgian Open
was held there. It is a delightful course; the humps and hillocks of the
fairways and the excellent greens, which are well protected by bunkers,
make it a good test for any golfer, especially when the wind is blowing.

GOLF CLUB GRAND DUCAL DE LUXEMBOURG ROUTE DE TREVES 1, 2633 SENNINGERBERG
PHONE: 352 34090 The steeply pitched roof with its row of dormer windows
gives a charming aspect to the rather grand clubhouse, which was once
a hunting lodge, but converted into golf player facilities in 1935. From
the large terraced clubhouse one can view several of Grand Ducal's 18
holes. The course has altered very little since 1935 and is not particularly
long but the narrow fairways, lined with mature trees, and the well bunkered
greens, demand accuracy by the golf player. Some long par 3's are balanced
by a couple of shorter par 4's. THE COURSE: 18 hole par 71, 5765m a practice
ground is available. FEES: LF1600 - 2650 FACILITIES: Clubhouse bar and
restaurant; practice ground COMMENTS: Closed Monday.
